Mercedes-Benz

The Mercedes-Benz AMG range is really cool. It has the W213 E63 and the W205 C63. There is a company, in Dubai that makes car interiors. They wanted to make the inside of the Mercedes-Benz AMG range look special. They wanted to use a material that looks like art, not a regular car part. The Mercedes-Benz AMG range is what they were working with so they had to make the material look really good for the Mercedes-Benz AMG range. They collaborated with ArmorKun, a pro steel car maker of advanced composites, to create a steering wheel made of Carbon Fiber in Gold Forged. The goal was to get rid of the conventional weave and establish “liquid metal” styling that perfectly reflects the opulent interior of modern Mercedes-Benz and S-Class models. Our production team used high quality forged carbon and incorporated metallic gold flakes in the product; it is high transparency coated to guarantee long term wearability and durability. The ergonomic approach is all about “Enhanced Control” with a contoured grip that helps to minimise driver fatigue and increases driving precision and speed of response in high-performance AMG driving. This gives an interior surface area that’s tough, timeless and stylish, with a soft luxurious touch that keeps the steering wheel a comfortable centerpiece of the interior. To guarantee “Wide Compatibility” the internal hub was precision engineered to fit a huge selection of chassis from W204 C-Class to W222 S-Class. It was a priority to use a protocol that could be installed simply without any extra adjustments or complicated wiring. Was a priority the ‘Easy installation’ protocol, a plug and play architecture, requiring no further adjustments or complex wiring. It is a perfect way for Mercedes-Benz owners to upgrade the exterior appearance of their cars with a high-end statement piece capable of boosting the car’s value, while also adding to its style and charm.

BWM

A top automotive tuning company in Texas, USA, contacted ArmorKun with the vision of a striking centerpiece that would combine raw racing attributes with the enhanced aero and street appearance of a BMW E90/E92/E93. Their demands weren’t unreasonable, a true carbon fibre M3 GT4 steering wheel, but with full everyday use capability, so precision engineered as many paddle shifter cut-outs were needed in their builds for their DCT.The first step in making the E9X version was to scan the E9X specific hub so we could be 100% compatible with the original M sport airbag and wiring. A deep flat bottom with a 3K carbon fiber, reinforced frame provides the driver with maximum leg room. All paddle shifters are factory level fit, with features of CNC-milled recesses for smooth and rapid gear changes, with no mechanical interference. The tactile part of it was the high gloss carbon fibre and perforated Nappa leather grips, hand stitched in a heavy gauge tri-coloured thread to pay homage to the BMW heritage. We boosted bolsters at positions 10 and 2 to make them easier to grip, which is what the American market would prefer a thick grip feel to be. This also gives increased leverage to the bolsters during some of the most intense canyon drives. The 3D modeling, carbon infusion, leather wrapping and final fitment checks were all done in house at our factory. This vertical control ensured that the final product was not only visually improved, but also a precision weighted instrument, ready for the most demanding BMW enthusiasts.

Audi

Here, the cockpit of an Audi R8 (2008-2015) was to be transformed, and that is when it went beyond re wrapping. They contacted ArmorKun, a top professional manufacturer of high-performance automotive technology. The objective was to assemble a new, light and compact unit, replacing the old one, which incorporated the steering wheel, cover, buttons and paddle shifters into a single, cohesive 38 cm performance package. Our design team has developed a special core that features not only high-strength carbon fiber frame, but a “Full Black” look as well. A superior tactile finish, with top grade leather wrapping the 38cm diameter, and included finger grips for greater accuracy. This complete set featured custom calibrated buttons and longer paddle shifters in deep black, which matched the Audi’s understated interior scheme and helped to reduce the set’s heft, thus enhancing maneuverability. This 1 in 1 solution is precision-made to ensure perfect 1:1 fitment to the original steering column. With the complete module, including cover and electronics, ArmorKun offered a true “plug and play” opportunity to modernize the first-generation R8 and TT cockpit. The end result is a low-profile, high-grip handlebar that delivers immediate “feedback” to the hands of the driver and offers a modern ergonomic feel, and that’s just a decade-old cliché for which material science is responsible today.

Toyota

The Toyota 86 ZN6/GR is a purist’s machine, and at ArmorKun, we believe its steering wheel should be equally uncompromising. Moving away from traditional restyling, we developed a “D-type” racing silhouette that prioritizes driver ergonomics and weight reduction. By adopting a lightweight 38 cm frame with a flat-bottom design, we’ve optimized the cockpit for high-speed maneuvering, ensuring that every input is met with the immediate, visceral response this chassis was born to deliver.

The technical soul of this modification lies in its hybrid material construction. We’ve blended the rigidity of real carbon fiber with the breathability of perforated leather, creating a surface that excels under the heat of a track day. Deeply sculpted finger grips are integrated into the rear of the rim, providing a “locked-in” feel that factory wheels often lack. This is a structural evolution designed by a specialized manufacturer to enhance the tactile connection between the driver and the pavement.

Finalizing the aesthetic is a high-contrast palette designed for the modern cockpit. A sharp red 12 o’clock stripe provides an instant visual reference during aggressive counter-steering, while matching red stitching adds a signature finish to the premium black leather. By combining lightweight engineering with professional-grade textures, we provide 2017-2025 Toyota 86 owners with a refined, race-ready interface that feels as sharp as it looks.

Porsche

A luxury Porsche restoration specialist wanted to create a flexible steering wheel option to identify the right manufacturer to bring together the diverse generations and under one design language, from the classic 911 (2005-2018) to the electric Taycan (2019-2021). Together, they formed a “Unified Performance” series with ArmorKun, an automotive technology business and manufacturer. The objective was to update the outdated cockpits of the Cayenne (2006-2021) and Panamera (2010-2020) and to improve the feel of 718 and 918 Spyder cockpits. The design was engineered by our engineering team for a modular frame in order to fit over 10 years of Porsche architecture, such as the Macan from 2014-2021 and the Boxster from 2004-2015. We used high quality real carbon fiber and perforated Nappa leather to develop a flat bottom, D-shaped design that provides more legroom and steering leverage. For the Porsche’s multi-function buttons and Sport Chrono dials, we precisely mapped the internal wiring of each wheel, so that each wheel was able to support the vehicles original electronic feedback, including models such as the Cayman (2005-2016).Tested thoroughly at our factory to ensure absolute plug and play ease for client. ArmorKun ensured vertical control of molding and hand-stitching to create an interior centerpiece with high contrast, signature racing-inspired stitching and centered 12 o’clock stripe. The result is an updated driving experience that combines the spirit of older Porsche models with today’s state-of-the-art ergonomics of the performance icons.

Lexus

Elevating the “F Sport” philosophy requires a delicate balance between executive luxury and track-ready precision. When a specialized Lexus performance boutique sought to upgrade the 2013-2019 IS, GS, and RX series, they aimed to surpass standard OEM offerings without losing the refined cabin atmosphere. They turned to ArmorKun, a professional manufacturer, to engineer a wheel that felt like a bespoke luxury component—one that remained fully compatible with the sophisticated heating elements and airbag systems found in the Lexus lineup.

Our technical approach centered on high-quality 3K glossy carbon fiber treated with an epoxy resin coating for superior heat and corrosion resistance. We reshaped the frame into a D-shaped flat-bottom profile, which not only projects a racing aesthetic but mechanically increases legroom for a more comfortable, unrestricted driving position. The grip areas were wrapped in expert hand-stitched Nappa perforated leather, specifically chosen for its ability to quickly absorb sweat and prevent slippage during spirited maneuvers.

By meticulously maintaining a uniform, symmetrical shape, ArmorKun ensured a vehicle-specific fit that preserves the delicate touch expected by Lexus owners across the NX, RC, and LX 570 lineups. This modification offers an ergonomic upgrade that significantly improves tactile feedback while ensuring a long service life under various climates. The result is a high-contrast, premium interface that seamlessly modernizes the 2013-2019 era cockpit, proving that “Quiet Luxury” can still possess a high-performance edge.

Land Rover

When a London-based luxury off-road specialist needed to upgrade a 2020-2024 Land Rover Defender, they sought a steering wheel that balanced rugged utility with a high-tech racing edge. They approached ArmorKun, a professional automotive technology company and manufacturer, to create a bespoke solution. The goal was to integrate an aggressive “D-type” racing silhouette while maintaining the sophisticated heating systems and electronic controls native to the modern Defender platform.

Our engineering team developed a real carbon fiber frame featuring integrated heating elements and precision-milled cutouts for the included oversized shift paddles. We combined the high-gloss carbon fiber top and bottom with perforated leather side grips for maximum breathability during intense off-road use. To enhance the cockpit’s visual energy, we added a vibrant red 12 o’clock stripe and matching red hand-stitching, complemented by deep finger grips for superior tactile control.

By meticulously mapping the Defender’s internal architecture, ArmorKun ensured a seamless plug-and-play installation that preserves all factory haptic feedback and thermal comfort. This modification transforms the industrial interior into a performance-oriented command center without compromising the vehicle’s legendary capability. The final product is a bold, high-contrast masterpiece that defines the intersection of luxury adventure and precision engineering.

Volkswagen

For Golf 7 GTI owners, the cabin is where German engineering meets personal expression. A performance boutique in California approached ArmorKun to develop a steering wheel that balanced the structural rigidity of racing with the tactile comfort of a premium tourer. This project was designed for the MQB platform, catering to enthusiasts who want an interior reflecting the GTI’s dual personality as both a refined daily driver and a focused track weapon.

Our team developed a hybrid design, integrating 3K glossy carbon fiber on the top and bottom with hand-stitched perforated leather grips. This configuration ensures the wheel remains heat-resistant while providing a soft, high-friction surface for precise steering. We utilized a D-shaped flat-bottom profile to increase legroom and added ergonomic finger grips to the rear, allowing for a more communicative hand position during spirited cornering.

Every unit is precision-molded at our factory to guarantee 1:1 fitment with original Golf 7 GTI airbags and buttons. By maintaining vertical control over production, ArmorKun ensures internal heating and wiring remain perfectly compatible for a plug-and-play installation. The result is a high-performance interface that modernizes the GTI cockpit through the intersection of carbon fiber innovation and luxury leather craftsmanship.
