A multi function steering wheel is a steering wheel with built-in electronic controls which enable the driver to control vehicle functions such as audio, phone, cruise control, voice commands, and driver assistance systems without taking their hands off the steering wheel. In modern systems there are dozens of functions accessible through a few strategically placed buttons, all of them communicating with the vehicle via the CAN Bus (Controller Area Network).
Most people consider it something of a convenience. We don’t.
